• Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn. This will help prevent the wick from mushrooming and smoking, and reduce the chance of pieces of the wick falling into the wax.
• Burn on a level, fire-resistant surface.
• Allow the wax to pool to the edge of the jar before extinguishing the flame (this usually takes a couple of hours). This will prevent the buildup of wax around the sides, ensuring that every possible drop of scented goodness makes it into the melt pool.
• Cover the jar with its metal lid when not in use to preserve the scent.
